I just can't place my finger on why black and white images are so poignant. Maybe it's the absence of color that make the emotions behind an image shine through. Or maybe it's the composition a black and white image must have to be so impactful. Either way, black and white images are a photographer's "editing choice," and, for me, it's always the most emotional images that encourage me to edit them in this style. I think it's the raw emotion in each one that I love highlighting - however joyful, sorrowful, or heartfelt it may be. Black and white certainly has it's place in each session when it comes to the emotional attachment we feel with our horses.
